Our goal is to make watching videos easy

mixd.tv - is a young Berlin start up that is developing an open source video discovery platform. We are a team of mainly technical people with strong links to the academic origins of our product.

At mixd.tv we aim to tackle the problem of a continuously distributed and fragmented Web by allowing users to discover content from many different sources and by supporting video consumption that is adapted to modern lifestyles, where users are often using portable devices and are not always lucky enough to have a connection to the Web.

Understanding Our Motivation

The future of all media is defined by a new user centric culture. People want flexible access to media regardless of time and location. New technologies are shifting power towards media consumers. Video is changing, in this context, the shape of traditional TV. More than 80% of all Internet users are watching videos on the Web and more than 500 million web videos are watched every day in the US alone.

The abundance of Web content is not without problems. Web videos are widely dispersed over the Internet on different video platforms, this makes discovering content and consuming that content a complicated, hit-and-miss and time-consuming experience.

At mixd.tv we have made it our mission to make products that overcome the above problems and our current private beta product aims to do just that.
